Brenton Beck

I graduated from Philadelphia College of Art with a BFA in graphic design. My first professional job was as art director at Shimer Von Cantz, a Philadelphia advertising agency. After moving to the Bay Area I took a position in the art department with Straight Arrow Publications, parent company of Rolling Stone Magazine. I worked there for 3 years designing books, catalogs, ads and Rolling Stone feature spreads. Next I became art director for Celestial Arts Publications, a book and poster publisher. After 2 years there, I became art director at Flair Communications, a national marketing and advertising firm. My accounts were Memorex and Wells Fargo Bank. I then founded Fifth Street Design, a design agency located in Berkeley, CA. We produced award-winning marketing materials for clients including: Ten Speed Press, Standard Process of Northern California, Bayer Healthcare, Chiron Corporation, Chronicle Books, O’Connor and Alta Bates Hospitals, Crisp Learning, Hyperion, Rimu Winery, Agilent Technologies, Menus and Music, The Asia and Koret Foundations, Goodwill Industries, Sierra Club, Wellness by Design, FitFirst, Bull Publishing and the University of California. In 2018 I closed Fifth Street Design and began working out of my studio in Napa County. I now use my imagination, computer skills and camera to create digital fine art prints. When not taking pictures I create acrylic paintings, collages, assemblages and quirky art objects for gallery sales.
