I love taking photographs. Having developed my artistic skills in the 1970’s, I rely confidently on my abilities to identify a worthy subject and compose well. But taking the photograph is just the beginning! Back in my studio, I review thousands of photographs to identify those that have the narrative quality I’m looking for. I am project-driven. I want to tell a story. I want to convey a sense of place, an experience–whether about Italy, West TX, Cuba, or my own backyard. Hundreds of post-production hours result in quality finished projects I can proudly share with others. I create slide presentations for public viewing, and related photography books that I design myself. I also select a limited number of images to print for exhibitions at galleries and Open Studio events.

Immersion in photography happened after the 2008 sale of the wholesale gift industry business I co-founded and ran successfully for 30 years. Since then, I’ve been honored to present solo shows in San Francisco and Napa County Library (2010); Backroom Wines and Napa Valley Museum (2012); St Helena Library and a joint exhibit with my artist husband at Vallejo Naval & Historical Museum (2013); Jessel Gallery (2014). I have also actively shown in numerous group exhibitions and participated in the annual Napa Valley Open Studios since 2010. A member of Napa Valley Photographic Society since 2009, I have served on the board for over 4 years, and as president from 2012 – 2014.
