Napa Valley Band Reserve

Thirty years ago, Bill Gantt, storied Instrumental Music Director at Vintage HS, started the Napa Valley Band Reserve. Now, Brendan Day, Gantt’s past student and current American Canyon HS’s Instrumental Music Director, carries the torch into the 21st Century. The Reserve brings competition bands into Napa Valley from points as far as San Jose, Livermore, Roseville, and Chico. At last year’s post-pandemic lockdown competition, over 1,500 students competed, and more are expected this year as programs recover from COVID disruptions.

The Napa Valley Band Reserve on November 12th starts in American Canyon with the Parade Competition at 9:00 AM, then moves to Memorial Stadium for the Field Competition starting at 2:00 PM. The Parade is gratis. and tickets for the Field Competition are available online at ACHSMusic.Org. and will be available at the Memorial Stadium ticket booth starting at noon on the day of the event.
