About Alta Community Enrichment (ACE), Alta Chamber & Visitors Bureau (ACVB), Town of Alta, The Snowpine Lodge, and Utah Division of Arts & Museums
Alta Community Enrichment (ACE) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to create opportunities in arts, culture, and education for the enhancement and well being of the Little Cottonwood Canyon community. Since its inception in 1997, ACE has served as the Alta Arts Council and now offers over 150-year round quality, diverse programs for free or very little cost to its attendees.

The Alta Chamber & Visitors Bureau (ACVB) promotes Alta and Little Cottonwood Canyon as a world-class, year-round, mountain resort destination, and seeks to enhance the Alta experience for local and destination visitors. ACVB functions as a partnership between the public entity of the Town of Alta and the Alta business community. In the Summer of 2020, the ACVB Board decided to explore a new model for the organization, under which ACVB would no longer focus solely on destination marketing, due to the high costs of competing for visibility in the ski industry destination market, ACVB’s relatively limited budget, and the substantial destination marketing investments being made by ACVB members and other organizations including Ski Utah and Visit Salt Lake. The Board determined that ACVB should explore ways to enhance the destination experience for Alta visitors through events programming, visitor information services, and a program of public art and placemaking.

The Town of Alta is a small mountain community located at the head of Little Cottonwood Canyon in the Wasatch-Cache National Forest. The town itself ranges in elevation from 7,500 ft to 9,500 ft. above sea level.  The Town of Alta was officially incorporated in 1970 but its history ranges back into the 1800s. The town, although small, has a Mayor, Town Council, Police Department, public one-room school, post office, and community center.  The town does not have any gas stations, grocery stores, etc so you must plan accordingly.

Utah Division of Arts & Museums Creative Change Scholarship supports the ACE Artist in Residence Program.  The scholarship encourages innovative cultural engagement in communities and is hosted by their Change Leader Program. Which is a professional development course that instructs assessing environments and the communication and facilitation skills necessary to implement change.  The ACE Executive Director, Sara Gibbs, is a certified Change Leader.

The Snowpine Lodge is a recently remodeled, luxury lodge in Alta. Guests can rejuvenate at the Stillwell Spa, relax at the outdoor pool, indulge in a fine meal at Swen’s Restaurant or The Gulch Pub or relax in the plush comfort of their guest rooms, all while keeping the mountains within view.
