We are happy to welcome back the first original Community Center exhibition since the start of the pandemic. While the exhibition is prompted by the observation of Black History Month at the West Sacramento Community Center, it is also meant to amplify black artists working in our community and region today. Black artists working in two-dimensional media like photography, paintings, textile arts, etc, are welcome! Any 2-D art that can be hung via gallery suspension wires may be submitted. One to three artworks may be submitted per artist. High school artists are welcome!

There are no fees associated with this exhibition. Gallery 1075 does not sell any artwork, nor does exhibited artwork need to be for sale. Any sales are the responsibility of the artists after the exhibition closes.

Gallery 1075 of the West Sacramento Community Center is within public view of West Sacramento bus transit and is under the branch of the Parks and Recreation Department. A variety of subject matters are welcome, but art must be relatively family-friendly.

There will be an art reception on opening night Friday, February 3rd from 6pm to 8pm.  Artists’ friends and family and the general public are invited. Please join us to amplify and recognize black artists working on a variety of subjects and media.
