Is there a poem, song, book, article, or quote that has inspired your art in the last four years? This virtual exhibition will feature artwork connected to and/or inspired by a literary or written work, excerpt, or quote. Artists will be asked to share a quote or passage from the work, song, or article that can be exhibited with the work. We seek a wide variety of content and a broad representation of style.

All media will be considered, including painting, printmaking, photography, drawing, sculpture, book art, video, and sound art.? Only artwork created during the past four years will be accepted. Due to a COVID19-related shelter-in-place and the unpredictability of the local situation as fall months approach, the exhibition is planned as a virtual exhibition.

Dewitt Cheng is an art writer/critic based in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Artists may submit one application. One application allows you to submit up to 6 artworks with appropriate payment of entry fees. Please include the written excerpt which is the inspiration for your work, not to exceed 200 words.

Entry fee is $35 (or $25 for current Arts Benicia members; selected at checkout) for up to 3 artworks; an additional $5 fee is required for any additional entries, up to a maximum of 6.
