Publishing Basics for Genre Fiction Writers
Writing and publishing fiction in the romance, mystery, science fiction, fantasy, horror, westerns, Young Adult or children’s book genres involves many of the same considerations as working in any type of fiction, but there are specific challenges and opportunities distinct to those genres. This workshop will outline the basics of bringing your manuscript through the whole publishing process, from writing and editing to exploring options for publication and marketing, geared towards genre fiction writers.
Bio: Catherine Lundoff is an award-winning writer, editor and publisher from Minneapolis. She is the author of Silver Moon, Blood Moon, Out of This World: Queer Speculative Fiction Stories and Unfinished Business: Tales of the Dark Fantastic and editor of the fantastical pirate anthology, Scourge of the Seas of Time (and Space). Her short fiction has appeared in such venues as Fireside Magazine, The Book of Extraordinary New Sherlock Holmes Stories, Haunting Shadows: A Wraith 20th Anniversary Anthology and American Monsters Part 2. She is also the publisher at Queen of Swords Press, a genre fiction publisher specializing in fiction from out of this world.
