The Richards Institute/Education Through Music

Education Through Music believes that all people, especially the child, deserves an esthetic education.  Each of us has a musical nature that should be nurtured and supported throughout our lives no matter who we are. This provides confidence, stability and connection between ourselves and others. Our organization seeks the develop strong educational practice that supports the best learning environment for the child to develop these skills and feel safe and supported within the context of learning language, music, the highest order thinking while being highly sensitive to the developmental needs of the child.

Our courses run the school year from September to August for adult who would like to study our philosophy and how to use ETM in their setting.  We have Family Fine Arts Day Camps in the summer across the country in various locations for adults and children to engage in music, art and storytelling together.  We also whole week-long summer conferences called “Colloquium” with live observations, special topic sessions and large group singing and lecture sessions.
