1977: Graduated Los Medanos College and received my AA/GE Degrees. 1979: Graduated with BA From Ca. St. Univ. Hayward (Now East Bay) in Performance/Composition/Education. 1983: MA Degree in Theory and Composition from San Francisco St Univ. where I studied with Dr. Roger Nixon. (What a great experience!) My first “Public Education” teaching position was at Clayton Valley High School in Concord. I had the pleasure of following in the footsteps of my High School Band Director, Len Walker. After three years, I accepted and Music Teaching Position for the Napa Valley Unified School District at the Vintage High School Instrumental Music Director-1986-2017. While being the Director of Instr. Music at Vintage High School, I was asked to be an adjunct teacher at Napa Valley College. So, off and on, I taught Music Appreciation, Guitar, Wind Ensemble and ended with a 10 year position as Director of the NVC Jazz Ensemble – 2004-2014. I am currently performing with the NVC Wind Ensemble and the Generation Gap Big Band. I am also in process of transcibing my Compositional Library to my website, “Gantt Music”. My latest works are there as well as a few of my college works. Over time, I will be adding the rest of my college and eariler post college compositions. My earlier works were pre-technology and were done with old school Pencil and Manuscript. To listen to my work, visit my website: https://www.ganttmusic.com
