A tale of two valleys, Noe & Napa. My whole life I have been between these also a stint in Los Angeles. Other artists have described me as a “polymath”, this categorization may be from my many interests and autodidactic execution in the arts. As a cartoon illustrator using old school drafting methods pen and ink first published in school and the local paper then in a book taking the place of the DC comics illustrator Ken Hooper “Hoop” Aquaman covers for the book “Something to Say” DBH publishing vanity press. I studied MIDI and sound design and went on to live and work in theater in Los Angeles as a stagehand and painter while picking up occasional jobs as a cartoon illustrator. Later back in San Francisco, I pursued film & television working on many award-winning programs with accomplished DPs then moving from light and sound into being a DP myself. I won a Cine Golden Eagle for the show “Addicted” Discovery TLC and have gone on to contribute to a multitude of projects many of which I have directed. I still vacillate between pen & ink by brush and fountain to filmmaking in documentaries soon to be horror. I have directed at Universal Studios and plan to continue in this field while working on several books some for children. I am a father & husband and greet each day with a hunger to do more learn more and seek adventure in creativity. My work has centered on the psychosocial implications of the culture we live in and breaking out to be better, braver & more truthful.
