NVUSD students in grades 9-12 will compete in a speech contest sponsored by AAUW. The topic is “Are men and women truly equal, or are the Suffragettes of 1920 still suffering in 2020?” The winner will compete in a state contest.
American Association of University Women Napa County Branch is holding a speech contest for high school students called Speech Trek. Students in grades 9-12 will give a 5-6 minute speech on the following topic: “Are men and women truly equal today, or are the Suffragettes of 1920 still suffering in 2020?” The speeches will be recorded and judged with first, second and third places receiving cash prizes. The winner will go on to compete in a state-wide contest hosted by AAUW CA.
