Reflections on Home

Call for work from female immigrant artists of color in the San Francisco Bay Area

ARTogether and Gathering All Muslim Artists (GAMA) invite artists to imagine the idea of home and belonging, whether it is one of comfort or fear, love or loneliness, and send us their works. We will be exhibiting at the Oakland Asian Cultural Center in early 2020.

All entries are due by December 1st, 2019. Please upload your entries on  bit.ly/reflectionsonhome. Do include the name, medium, size and price of your works.

Criteria

All works must be two-dimensional, i.e. able to go up on a wall. We are excited to see visual works in a variety of  media: paintings, sketches, and photographs all welcome.

Artists must be able to deliver the original works to Oakland at the time of the exhibition and will be responsible for collecting all unsold works at the end, unless otherwise agreed with the partner organizations..

The gallery, ARTogether or GAMA are not responsible for the safety of the work, and will not be liable for any damage. We do not offer any insurance for the works.

As per the gallery’s request, all works must exclude nudity or violence. Our panel of judges reserve the final decision of approved work.

Details

ARTogether and GAMA will charge a 30% commission on all sold works. Oakland Asian Cultural Center does not charge any commission on works sold.
Transporting sold works to the buyers will be the responsibility of the artist.
All works must remain at the exhibition until its completion.
