Chinese Culture Foundation of San Francisco (also known as Chinese Culture Center or CCC) is seeking an Arts and Visitor Engagement Coordinator, a community-minded individual who is committed to social justice, economic development and elevating the underserved through art. The Arts and Visitor Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for leading, coordination and implementation of arts engagement programs, including all aspects of educational tours, outdoor festivals, events, private tours, classes and group visits, such as for ArtBuds – an early education and contemporary arts program, outreach, marketing and revenue goals.

Arts Engagement and Education

Implementation and Coordination

Coordinate incoming tours and all aspects involved, including handling inquiries, bookings, scheduling tours, managing payments due to docents and restaurants for meals, providing tour content to docents, handling post-tour surveys, creating and coordinating with internal staff for support as needed.
Evaluate tour operations through feedback from customers, partners, and internal stakeholders to improve and streamline tour experience and in line with program priorities.
Be responsible for recruiting docents
Lead tours to groups, individuals, and partners
Curriculum and content development

Update and evaluate tour content periodically to ensure curriculum is mission driven, meets educational standards
Be well versed in tour content
Develop content related to early education and visual art exhibitions.
Training

Provide quarterly training to current docents
Provide training for staff on education to enhance visitor engagement and experience
Recruit, train, evaluate volunteers, including assignment and scheduling
Evaluate training outcomes
Market and develop resources for arts engagement and educational  programming

Organize, digitize and update all resources (tour information, website, sign ups, surveys etc.)
Create opportunities in collaboration with communications team for news stories, pitching about the engagement/education program, social media
Outreach & Partnership Management

Develop and implement outreach plan to enhance and increase school and community engagement, and individual visitors
Outreach to and nurture relationships with educational partners including schools, teachers and professional associations
Establish contacts with teachers at public and private schools, and increase number of schools engaged by the tour program
Outreach to and develop relations with early education to university level institutions, including Kai Ming Head Start, Wu Yee Children’s Services, Edwin and Anita Lee Newcomers School, local public and private high schools, City College, SFSU, University of California, Stanford University, California College of the Arts
Outreach to and steward relations with nonprofit and community partners
Develop and maintain business relations and other partnerships to increase individual visitorship in collaboration with development team
Revenue

Meet revenue goals for tour and education programs
Collaborate with Development team to host individual donors, contemporaries, and corporate sponsors on educational programming
Be an ambassador to promote CCC’s mission and vision, including:

Lead tours, develop and give presentations, table at events, participate in panels, network, engaging with partners at other events, and others
Reporting and Record-keeping

Maintain and create excellent records of tour schedule, numbers, revenue, names of schools reached, outreach outcomes
Be prepared to submit semi annual reporting for DataArts, board meetings, and team meetings as assigned
Other tasks and projects as assigned

Festival Coordination

CCC hosts two annual community-based festivals in Chinatown – Dancing on Waverly and Chinatown Music Festival.

Manage entire event planning process leading up to, day-of and post event
Planning process includes:

Obtaining required permits
Curating lineup of artists and interactive activities
Working with Communications team on marketing and design efforts
Coordinating with vendors for festival setup – stage, tables, chairs, tents and audio needs
Recruiting and managing volunteers
Tracking finances to fit allotted budget
Serve as a liaison and ambassador to the Chinatown community
Event Coordination

Outreach to partners and their constituencies
Manage event planning process and coordinating logistics leading up to and day-of
Coordinating resources including Eventbrite postings, recruiting volunteers, collaborating with staff, and organizational partners
Grants Management

Under direction, may be responsible for pieces of grant compliance as assigned, including:

Drafting, editing grant reports and narrative, provide qualitative and quantitative data on impact
Evaluate and assess program based on existing grants and sponsorship requirements
Conduct evaluation activities, including field work, surveys, data collection, and documentation
Gallery & Office Operations

This position may on occasion assist with arts gallery operations and/or general administrative tasks and include other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in art & humanities or a professional degree, and/or equivalent experience.
Work experience with children, young adults, and social justice and educational curriculums.
Ability to work in a self-directed manner.
Strong commitment to arts and education advocacy.
Strong writing, public speaking, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel and Word), Google Sheets
Excellent coordination and organizational skills
Training in early education methodologies a plus.
Experience and familiarity working in non-profit environments is a plus.
Bilingual Cantonese/Manadrin and English preferred
