Music Store Manager/School Director

Do you love kids and music? Do you have retail experience? We’re looking for a Store Manager/School Director for our Music School and Shop on Clement St in the Inner Richmond.

Your management responsibilities will include:

Handling in-store sales and on-boarding of new students
Managing class scheduling for students and teachers
Outreach and recruitment for new students
Inventory management, including ordering and receiving goods
Tracking and reporting payroll
Merchandising and store upkeep and maintenance
We’re looking for someone with a strong musical background and with experience in retail and/or school management. You should be sales-oriented, well-organized and very comfortable communicating with kids and their parents.

About us: Founded in 2002, Exploring Music originally offered traditional Chinese musical instruments and instruction exclusively. Since then, Exploring Music has become one of the Bay Area’s premier independent musical instrument retailers and lesson providers carrying a variety of string, wind, and percussion instruments. We also offer repairs for almost every instrument we sell.

Exploring Music’s network of experienced and talented instructors help students of all ages and skill levels develop their musical ability and enhance their technical skills. We are also San Francisco’s only licensed Yamaha Music Education Center and offer Yamaha’s renowned Music Education System for kids ages 3 and older.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $18.00 to $23.00 /hour
