The LASC’s Annual Day of the Dead Exhibition brings together the rich visual traditions of the holiday Dia de los Muertos that celebrates the memories of family, friends and other public figures. Presented in conjunction with the Living Arts & Science Center’s Day of the Dead Festival (November 1st), the LASC’s Day of the Dead Exhibition generally features artists that make work in response to the Mexican holiday: Dia de los Muertos/ Day of the Dead.

Due to the recent pandemic, the LASC is doing something very different this year as opposed to having its annual on-site exhibition. The LASC is seeking digital images of Day of the Dead themed art work to be presented through an online exhibition as well as projected on the LASC’s Glo Gallery large screen for nightly presentations leading up to Day of the Dead. This national call for Day of the Dead themed art work is for digital images only of either sculpture or 2d art. The digital image will represent the art work in the exhibition and works will not be on display on-site. So, works should be nicely photographed and presented in a professional manner either cropped for 2d works or with a consistent background of sculptural pieces. See guidelines on web site. This is a juried exhibition with prizes and will run October 5 – November 20.
