2020 has been a year of intersecting crises. While the novel coronavirus began its sweep through the US it was clear that its danger would be unequally felt; destruction surged through vulnerable populations and communities with systemic disadvantages. Black Lives Matter protests against injustice have stimulated broader calls for equality and reform of systems based on racist policies. Artists have been front and center in these protests calling out police brutality, harsh immigration raids, and climate devastation as well as threats to LGTBQ+, indigenous peoples, and reproductive rights. It’s been busy.

We invite you to contribute to a juried virtual exhibition at the Reynolds Gallery that addresses the various currents, undercurrents and discourses stimulated by this extraordinary moment in time.

The exhibition will be displayed virtually using the Art Steps platform where it will be freely accessible. It will be featured on our gallery website as well as the university website. We will promote it through social media channels and engage audiences both local as well as national.

Submit to reynoldsgallery@pacific.edu. The attachment size is limited to 12MB. Digital images should be labeled: artist last name_title of work. They must be accompanied by a word document or pdf with artist’s full name, address, and contact information. The document must also list the title, medium, date, and dimensions of each art work submitted.

Entries are open to all living artists. Each artist may enter up to 5 pieces of artwork that have been completed in the last year. Entries must be original in concept, composition, and execution.

The exhibition will be juried by the university curator, art faculty, and student curators.

The Reynolds Gallery is a premier space located in the Jeannette Powell Art Center, on the campus of the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. It hosts artists and scholars in a series of exhibitions, lectures, and workshops to link our students and region to Pacific’s curricular programs. The Reynolds Gallery provides professional development opportunities for students through classes, under-graduate research and internships.
