MacDowell is currently accepting applications for the Spring Summer 2023 residency season (March – August 2023). Our next application deadline is September 10, 2022 at 11:59 P.M. ET. There is an application preview available below; however, the preview does not provide character limits or drop down responses. Please refer to the actual application for these details. There is a $30 application fee, collected prior to submission, which helps offset the cost of hosting the application materials on SlideRoom. Anyone experiencing a financial hardship may request a fee waiver.

MacDowell’s mission is to nurture the arts by offering creative individuals an inspiring environment in which they can produce enduring works of the imagination. We encourage applications from artists representing the widest possible range of perspectives and demographics, and who are investigating an unlimited array of inquiries and concerns.

As English is the common language practiced at MacDowell, we request that application submissions be provided in English. Please contact us if you need assistance with applying.

Artists may submit only one application in a two-year period. Applicants cannot be enrolled in a degree-seeking program during the residency season (March 2023 – August 2023). Doctoral candidates who have completed all coursework may apply.
