Gina Peretti is a Napa Valley artist who studied art and architecture at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California. The ability to infuse functional reality with her characteristic mix of bold, yet soothing, shapes and vivid hues won her first place in the annual interior design storyboard competition. She built her distinctive color and composition skills over many years in the design/build construction industry. It is her reaction to beauty, both natural and functional, that informs the composition. Her intuitive application of broad gestural sweeps coheres with dabbing, glazing and dry brush techniques meant to define the subject and suggest the nature of the observer. Can there be a meaningful subject without identifying the observer? By marrying the subject to its viewer Gina creates a joyful vision of their offspring. Most recently, Gina’s paintings were displayed In Napa Valley at the Yountville Artists’ Exhibit 2024. Her work has been jury selected to appear in Abstraction: Forms, Lines, Colors – 2024 (Exhibition and Publication,) hosted by the Galerium & The Book of Arts organization.
