Some Dogs Drown by Joseph R. DeNatale

Join us for an event with Napa County’s first Youth Poet Laureate, Joseph R. DeNatale.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Joseph (Joey) DeNatale (he/him) is a renaissance man (teen). He graduated in June 2023 from Vintage High School and will be starting his freshman year at California State University, Chico in August 2023. Joey was named Napa County’s first Youth Poet Laureate, and is the author of Some Dogs Drown, an anthology of poetry published in 2023. When not writing poetry, Joey enjoys songwriting and playing with his two bands, The Turtlenecks and Excluding Humans. Besides poetry, Joey is an avid thespian, and has performed with Cafeteria Kids Theatre, Napa Valley College, Lucky Penny Production, Shakespeare Napa Valley, and both Napa and Vintage High Schools. In high school, Joey also played football, performed with choir, and served on Congressman Mike Thompson’s Student Council, where he produced a climate change conference.
