The Napa School of Martial Arts brings affordable, quality martial arts training in after school programs to at-risk and low-income children and teens in Napa County.
We are Napa’s only 501(c)(3) nonprofit martial arts school and, since 2011, we have taught martial arts and self-defense techniques as well as life-long lessons about integrity, respect, and hard work, to those who cannot afford the higher prices at for-profit schools. Our fees are based on a sliding scale dependent on need.
All of our instructors are Kukkiwon-certified black belts and do not receive any salaries. Hwa Rang Kwan was brought to the United States in 1965 by our instructor, Grandmaster D. K. Shin, who still teaches at his own school in Belmont, and has a 1,000-year tradition in Korea.
